Bristol is located in the South West of England. With four Universities it is a very student orientated city, it has a population of over 500,000. The students at The University of Bristol alone make up 23,000 people! Even bigger is University of the West of England with nearly 30,000 students - you can see where I am going here - there is no shortage of students to befriend!
The shopping in Bristol is also excellent - there is the main shopping area called Broadmead - this has over 300 shops! Not only does it have shops but it also has loads of bars, restaurants, cafés etc...
There is no shortage of places to party in Bristol; it has earned its name among some of the most 'playful' university cities. In addition to clubbing, drinking and general debauchery there are also a lot of other extra curricular activities to participate in - there is no shortage of things to keep you entertained.
First Year accommodation for Bristol Uni is mainly in two areas; Clifton and Stoke Bishop.
For UWE there is a lot of accommodation provided all over bristol, some on campus, some not. Unite student accommodation service offer quite a lot so they are worth a look.

The University of the West of England - Its main campus is at Frenchay, about five miles north of the city centre. With around 30,000 students and 3,000 academic staff, UWE is the larger of the two universities. UWE was founded in 1970 as Bristol Polytechnic - in 1992 it gained University status. (more info)

Filton College - provides for a number of qualifications, including GCSEs and A-levels, as well as a number of vocational courses leading to BTEC First and National Diplomas and other similar qualifications, and some higher education courses leading to HNDs and Foundation Degrees. City of Bristol College - is a large general further education college based in the English city of Bristol. Its main campus is located on St George's Road, near College Green and close to the city centre, with further centres spread across the city. It was formed by the merger of Brunel College with South Bristol College and subsequently also merged with Soundwell College and smaller establishments such as the College of Care and Early Years Education. The transport in Bristol is good in terms of getting in and around the city. For getting away to other areas of the country one of the best options is to fly, trains can be a little slow! Flying is usually cheaper than the train if you book ahead and you get the pleasure of flying Easyjet - what more could you want.
